G3/08: On the patentability of Computer-Implemented Inventions
In October 2008 the President of the European Patent Office made use of the possibility pursuant Article 112(1)(b) EPC to refer a point of law to the Enlarged Board of Appeal. A number of questions were submitted on the patentability of computer-implemented inventions (software).
